Regardless, this dumb but fun flick that jams to the soundtrack of my early music-loving life. I remember walking out the back door into the alley way behind M Street on Saturday morning into broad daylight. But it turns out Roxbury and Last Days came out in the same year.
If the owner of TRC liked you, he'd close and lock the front doors at 1:30AM (or whenever the law said bars had to close) and it became a private gathering. By the time you were done, the police sobriety check points would have broken up for the evening and you had safe sailing home.
We would party till 2:30, then head over to Bistro Francais up on M Street for a late night/early morning breakfast. It really was a cool place even though most of the people there were well into their 40s and beyond (I was a comparative kid at the time, in my early 30s). The music started off on Friday and Saturday nights all low-key and mellow and then as the night wore on and people got loaded the music amped up till, around 1AM, it was solid techno. God, this is hilarious! It reminds me of a club in Georgetown (Washington, DC).The River Club.
